Peraton is seeking a Junior Digital Forensic Analyst to join their Federal Strategic Cyber program within the Cyber & Intelligence sector. The Computer Investigations and Forensics Division (CIF) focuses on recovering and analyzing digital evidence to support criminal, cyber, and administrative investigations for the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). The digital forensics laboratory utilizes advanced technologies, decryption methods, and forensic tools to process and examine a wide range of digital media. In this role, you will tackle complex investigative challenges, ensuring digital evidence meets Department of Justice court-admissibility standards. You will conduct forensic examinations of data from various sources including cellphones, tablets, computers, removable media, and cloud services. Applying scientific practices, you will identify, analyze, interpret, and present digital evidence for legal matters. This involves performing detailed examinations aligned with investigative objectives and legal constraints. You will utilize industry-standard forensic tools for extraction and examination, analyze data from diverse operating systems and applications, and produce comprehensive reports detailing findings for investigators and prosecutors. Additionally, you may provide expert witness testimony and offer on-site support during search warrant executions, ensuring strict chain of custody. Collaboration with leadership and peers is essential for maintaining forensically sound procedures and conducting quality checks. Continuous learning on advancements in digital forensics and related fields is expected.
