About The Position

BryceTech is seeking a Junior DevSecOps Engineer to support the design, integration, and secure deployment of mission-critical software systems operating in distributed defense environments. This role will work closely with senior engineers to help maintain containerized services, support system integrations, and assist with security and compliance activities required for software deployment within secure government environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools, containerized environments, and federal cybersecurity compliance processes, including supporting systems through the Authority to Operate (ATO) process.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, software engineering, or systems integration roles
  • Experience working with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with API integration, RESTful services, or message-based system integration
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks, including the ATO process and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Ability to support technical troubleshooting in complex operational environments
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing technical and security documentation

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of containerized applications and microservices within Kubernetes-based environments
  • Support system integration activities including API integrations, messaging frameworks, and data exchange between distributed systems
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Apache Kafka or similar platforms
  • Support deployments and updates across development, integration, test, and production environments
  • Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot integration, deployment, and data flow issues in operational environments
  • Assist with CI/CD pipeline maintenance and automation using Git-based version control systems
  • Support security and compliance activities associated with federal system authorization processes, including Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of RMF documentation, system security plans, security control implementations, and supporting artifacts
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems comply with DoD security policies and accreditation requirements
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, integration diagrams, and operational support materials
  • Provide engineering support during live or simulated operational exercises, including troubleshooting during mission events when required
