About The Position

Support and implement the design process on various-sized projects, from preliminary design through design development and final installation drawings. Acts as a resource person within their area of assigned responsibility, to support designers in the completion of projects. Develop furniture plans, working drawings, electrical & communications plans, product specifications, and finishes/materials on medium to large-size projects for client review, implementation, and follow-through. Work with vendors and project teams to develop conceptual designs, research special product needs, and present solutions for design projects of varying complexities. Own the preparation of project presentations including product & finish documents and renderings, schematic design, and presentation materials on all-size projects. Perform site inspections, field verifications, inventory of furnishings, and evaluation of product reuse. Develop and coordinate material & finish schemes and develop finish plans when required. Participate in client meetings, along with Sales, to convey design solutions as requested. Track design time by completing a detailed project log of all work performed in MxT. Follow Storr Design Standards and Best Practice guidelines for the department. Fulfill requirements of Designer training established by the Design Manager. Requirements

  • 4-year Interior Design or Interior Architecture degree or balance of Associate Degree and applicable experience
  • Furniture dealership background preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of specific industry experience
  • CET Designer Software experience or sim technology
  • Understanding of design trends and code requirements
  • Demonstrated success in both hard skill + behavioral core strength/ attributes

Nice To Haves

  • Furniture knowledge / experience preferred
  • CET Designer Software knowledge preferred
