About The Position

American Exchange Group is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Designer to join their team and support the development of a newly acquired lifestyle brand's apparel and sleepwear collections. The ideal candidate has a strong fashion sense, excellent CAD skills, and an understanding of current women's apparel trends. This is a hands-on position for someone who is creative, organized, eager to learn, and excited about helping build a new apparel business around an established global brand. This role is onsite Monday - Thursday, Friday remote.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in women's apparel, sleepwear, loungewear, or related fashion categories.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
• Excellent CAD and technical drawing capabilities.
• Good understanding of color, print, fabric, garment construction, and fit.
• Strong awareness of current fashion and retail trends.
• Experience communicating with overseas factories is a plus.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and design quality.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of women's apparel, sleepwear, and loungewear collections.
• Research current and emerging trends in silhouettes, color, prints, graphics, fabrics, and trims.
• Create CADs, sketches, colorways, print layouts, graphics, and presentation boards.
• Assist in developing seasonal concepts, color palettes, prints, and fabric direction.
• Update designs based on internal, customer, and brand feedback.
• Assist with fabric, trim, print, and color development.
• Prepare line sheets and design presentations for internal and customer meetings.
• Work closely with the Senior Merchandiser, technical design, production, sourcing, and overseas factories.
• Review development samples and help maintain accurate design comments and revisions.
• Organize samples, fabrics, trims, artwork, and seasonal development materials.
• Help ensure that all product reflects the brand identity while remaining commercial and appropriate for our retail customers.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
