About The Position

OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that supports Federal Government clients. The Junior Data Scientist will support an existing federal client with data analysis and predictive model development on the Databricks platform. The position is hybrid, with two days per week in the McLean, Virginia office. OCT Consulting is a small business providing professional services and information technology solutions to Federal government and commercial clients. Requirements

U.S. citizenship.
Current or prior Public Trust Clearance with a federal agency.
At least a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
At least 5 years of professional experience.
Familiarity with FAIR principles, data governance, and AI ethics.
Hands-on experience with Databricks features, including Unity Catalog setup, privilege models, and workspace administration.
Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

A master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similar field is preferred.
Databricks certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean data and develop ETL processes using SQL and Python.
Perform data analysis using SQL and Python.
Build pipelines in Databricks.
Build visualizations with Databricks.
Support data analysis and predictive model development for a federal client.
