We are seeking a Junior Data Center/Desktop Engineer to help maintain our data center infrastructure, deploy and troubleshoot server and network equipment, manage hardware inventory, and support trading workstations in a fast-paced trading environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years IT-related education or experience
  • Experience with NetBox and/or other Inventory Management Solution
  • Knowledge of network device / server deployments
  • Knowledge of different cable types: UTP, DAC, Fiber, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with network cable test equipment
  • Ability to crimp RJ45 Connectors and clean fiber
  • Willingness to work Weekends as needed
  • Good general IT technical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain local Data Centers – through racking/stacking Server and Network equipment, running UTP, DAC, and Fiber Cables, and troubleshooting hardware issues
  • Manage hardware lifecycle, inventory management, hardware vendor relations, and procuring of data center hardware
  • Assist in the management of Circuits, Cross-Connects, and other data center-related infrastructure needs
  • Oversee rack power utilization and space allocation
  • Manage our trade and support workstations as the need arises, including purchasing, provisioning, configuring, troubleshooting, replacing, and liaising with third-party vendors
  • Document both new and established procedures to establish and promote best practices throughout the company
