About The Position

This role involves providing technical support and guidance in the collection, analysis, and visualization of various data. The Junior Data Analyst will support data analysis and visualization activities using tools such as Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, Socrata, and others. The position will assist in creating, maintaining, and improving data products, reports, dashboards, and visualizations. Responsibilities include gathering, organizing, validating, and analyzing data to support transportation policy, program, and performance needs. The analyst will collaborate with team members to enhance data collection and analysis processes and respond to data support requests, ensuring timely delivery of accurate information products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, information systems, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
  • Zero(0) to Two(2) years of professional experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with one or more data analysis and visualization platforms, such as Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, or Socrata.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collect, clean, analyze, and present data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support multiple priorities.
  • Must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Must work from the client HQ in Washington DC four days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting transportation data, policy, or performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. DOT or highway policy information data environment.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or visualizations for external or internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data quality assurance practices and data management best practices.
  • Exposure to public-sector data collection, analysis, or reporting tools.
