This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with security technologies, contribute to risk reduction efforts, and help strengthen the agency’s overall security posture.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in information technology systems, computer sciences, or a related field and experience in the information technology field to include experience in a security-focused role
Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis
Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Supporting and maintaining cybersecurity tools and technologies related to vulnerability management; Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) & Log Aggregation; Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR); Data Traffic Observability; endpoint security; and security system maintenance
Assisting with the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud, hybrid, and on-premises security solutions to strengthen the agency’s security posture
Participating in security reviews, vulnerability analysis, and technology evaluations to identify risks and recommend security improvements
Collaborating with the infrastructure team, SOC, and GRC on vulnerability remediation, system hardening strategies, incident response, security workflow improvements, and security-related requests and changes
Assisting senior engineers and architects with researching, testing, configuring, and evaluating security technologies and solutions while supporting project-related security initiatives across the agency
