This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with security technologies, contribute to risk reduction efforts, and help strengthen the agency’s overall security posture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology systems, computer sciences, or a related field and experience in the information technology field to include experience in a security-focused role
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis
  • Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
  • Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and maintaining cybersecurity tools and technologies related to vulnerability management; Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) & Log Aggregation; Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR); Data Traffic Observability; endpoint security; and security system maintenance
  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud, hybrid, and on-premises security solutions to strengthen the agency’s security posture
  • Participating in security reviews, vulnerability analysis, and technology evaluations to identify risks and recommend security improvements
  • Collaborating with the infrastructure team, SOC, and GRC on vulnerability remediation, system hardening strategies, incident response, security workflow improvements, and security-related requests and changes
  • Assisting senior engineers and architects with researching, testing, configuring, and evaluating security technologies and solutions while supporting project-related security initiatives across the agency
