About The Position

BANC is an afterschool program that dedicates itself to the surrounding community by nurturing children in their social and emotional growth and provides them with an opportunity to explore the world through play and interaction with other children. The program serves 90 children ages 5-12 years old who reside in the Byram community. Most of the children who attend the program attend the New Lebanon elementary school.

Requirements

• All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Applicants must be available to work Monday-Friday from 3:00pm - 5:30 pm (program runs from September 2026 to June 2027).
• Applicants will be required to complete a State of CT background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Providing childcare to afterschool children.
• Assisting counselors and other staff supervising children and facilitating activities.
• Providing assistance with arts & crafts activities, sporting activities, free play activities, etc.
• Assisting and supervising the children at the afterschool program.
• Assisting the children with homework and reading groups.
• Attending field trips and in-service exhibits with the children.
• Ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children.
• Assisting with daily tasks, participating in activities, and offering support to children.
• Demonstrating positivity and respect to children, staff and parents.
