About The Position

The Junior Contract Administrator will support the physical movement, custody, and contractual obligations related to metals traded across our North American business. This role involves coordinating activities across the commodity supply chain and working closely with customers, logistics providers, and warehouse operators to ensure the timely and cost-efficient execution of physical metals trades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, with advanced Excel and Word capabilities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Courteous and flexible customer service attitude.
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in-office five days a week and flexibility to work additional hours as required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Asia, Dubai, UAE) as required by the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional European language skills are a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Incoterms® 2020 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively coordinate internally across departments (Legal, Credit, Risk, Treasury, etc.) and with other Gerald global offices as needed; and externally with trade counterparts, warehouses, ports, stevedores, and other third-party service providers to negotiate and procure necessary logistics services (trucking, rail, barge) to support the needs of the physical trading business.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality customer service relationships with various counterparties, including producers, consumers, and service providers, in a manner that creates operational synergies across the supply chain.
  • Proactively monitor contractual documentation, such as purchase/sales orders, invoices, shipping documents, and title documents, to ensure contractual obligations are met and executed in an accurate, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
  • Maintain internal records, including inventory on hand, goods in transit, and various bearer documents; continuously reconcile inventory records for reporting to Traders, Credit, and Treasury, as well as various external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and distribute storage and freight cost databases in order to facilitate timely and accurate trading decisions.
  • Responsible for timely releases, invoicing, and execution of other documentation to counterparties, as well as subsequent coordination of payments with the Treasury Department.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
