CACI is seeking a Junior CNC Machinist with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience. This role involves determining and performing appropriate set up of CNC Vertical machining centers for programs provided by CAM programmers. The machinist will also be responsible for knowledge of G and M codes with the ability to program at the control to build fixtures and edit CAM generated programs, selecting appropriate cutters and tool holders, and setting up and operating the full range of machine tools found in a well-equipped prototype development shop. Maintaining dimensional accuracy to specified tolerances (potentially less than +/-.001") through the use of measuring instruments is crucial. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, read blueprints and mechanical drawings, and understand Mil-Spec and GD&T specifications is required. The role also involves working from verbal instructions and sketches, performing machine shop math and trigonometry, and adhering to safety protocols. CAM and Solid modeling CAD experience is a plus, as is the ability to operate a forklift. The position requires the ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing 80 pounds.
