CACI is seeking a Junior CNC Machinist with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience. This role involves determining and performing appropriate set up of CNC Vertical machining centers for programs provided by CAM programmers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of G and M codes with the ability to program at the control to build fixtures and edit CAM generated programs. They will also be responsible for selecting appropriate cutters and tool holders, setting up and operating the full range of machine tools in a prototype development shop, and maintaining dimensional accuracy to specified tolerances (potentially less than +/-.001") during machining processes using measuring instruments. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, read blueprints and mechanical drawings, and understand Mil-Spec and GD&T specifications is crucial. The role also requires the ability to work from verbal instructions and sketches, perform machine shop math and trigonometry, and lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
