About The Position

RS&H is currently looking for a construction inspector to join our team in Austin, TX. You will be outside in the elements - rain or shine – coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors on active heavy civil transportation construction sites. You will monitor progress as well as inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, review contract documents to ensure compliance, and you may perform sampling and field testing of component materials and completed work. At the end of every day, you’ll create a daily log of everything that happened to report these details to our client.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of experience.
Ability to read construction plans.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to obtain materials sampling and testing certifications as required by the project's scope of work.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (rain or shine, sun or snow).
Ability to work day or night shifts.
Ability to take measurements and complete calculations.
Ability to work independently and adapt to different situations.
Ability to communicate effectively and report test results or findings confidently.
Attention to detail, especially with numbers.
Ability to triple-check work.
