We are seeking a Junior Buyer/Planner to join our New Product Introduction and Contracting team. In this role, you will help ensure materials and services are available to support new product development and production. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to place and manage purchase orders, track material availability, resolve supply issues, and keep stakeholders informed. This role is a strong fit for someone who is organized, curious, communicative, and eager to learn procurement and supply-chain fundamentals in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment, and passion to perform under pressure
1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience managing Supplier relationships, inventory management, and understanding of basic principles of procurement practices
Microsoft suite experience- outlook, teams, word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong background in problem-solving and leadership
Demonstrated understanding of an ERP system. Experience with Epicor, SAP, Plex, or Oracle will prepare for success.
Strong ability to perform both as a part of a team and to perform as an individual

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
Plex ERP Experience
Internship, co-op, project, coursework, or other hands-on experience related to procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations.
Exposure to rapid manufacturing growth and preferably startup experience

Responsibilities

Preparing purchase orders or bid requests; entering data for purchase orders
Tracking, maintaining, and updating purchase orders based on changes to timing, cost, financials, or other updates.
Conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
Reviewing requisitions and bid proposals; negotiating contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority; purchasing supplies
Interfacing with all departments, and resolving problems and issues
Tracking material shortages for work-orders, kits, and sub-assemblies based on bill-of-material or drawings, facilitate alternate solutions where material supply doesn’t support
