Department Summary: The Junior Buyer is accountable for aiding the Buyer/Planners in all aspects of bids, procuring materials, creating purchase orders, managing supplier information, and delivering exceptional customer service. Their main objective is to help ensure that suppliers meet or surpass Janicki Industries' quality and delivery objectives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of supply chain experience required.
  • Understanding of ERP/PDM environments.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance if needed.
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed.
  • Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing college level or trade school education in relative field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in an ISO or AS quality management system a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services by preparing purchase order, maintaining data in the ERP system.
  • Assist in comparing prices, specifications, and delivery dates to help determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet inventory needs.
  • Coordinate with the accounts payable department to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing for purchased items.
  • Maintain and update supplier information, including contact details, product specifications, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Ensures processes comply with AS9100 quality requirements.
  • Interfaces with internal customers on supplier issues.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
