About The Position

We are seeking a driven, results-oriented Junior Buyer with 1–3 years of sales or account management experience. The successful candidate will help expand and manage our account portfolio by purchasing and selling scrap aluminum and other metal commodities. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, inspecting, and purchasing scrap aluminum from a diverse portfolio of accounts across North America and beyond. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building genuine customer relationships and is eager to learn about the technical side of metals, commodities, and the recycling industry. Full training on material identification and evaluation will be provided.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of sales or account manager experience.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn about the metals recycling industry.
  • Aggressive self-starter that will help build up customers.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Great communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recycling, metals, industrial sales, or logistics.
  • Knowledge of metal grades, commodities, or purchasing is helpful but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an assigned book of business, ensuring strong supplier relationships and consistent purchasing volume.
  • Conduct proactive outreach including cold calls, warm calls, and follow-ups to generate new leads and onboard new suppliers.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing accounts to strengthen loyalty, identify new opportunities, and maximize profitability.
  • Assist with price negotiations, leveraging current metal market trends and internal pricing guidance.
  • Learn to identify, sort, and evaluate various grades of scrap aluminum (training provided).
  • Travel to suppliers as needed to inspect material and build customer relations.
  • Accurately document purchases, weights, pricing, and material specifications.
  • Partner closely with yard operations to ensure purchased material is processed correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of account activity, call logs, and supplier interactions in the CRM.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with company policies.
