About The Position

Berendsen Fluid Power, a distributor, has one of the largest dedicated field sales forces in both the hydraulics and pneumatics industries with 42 locations across the US and Canada. We are currently looking for a Junior Buyer to join our team. Job Summary: Coordinate and expedite the flow of material within or between departments according to product schedule to ensure customer deadlines are met. This role will oversee the flow of materials, components, tooling and paperwork and take action to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist Buyers with items that are required for customer orders.
• Expedite and monitor shipments to make sure goods arrive on time to meet product deadlines.
• Identify and address issues related to delinquent or undelivered goods.
• Exhaust all options to ensure material arrives on time, communicating with departments on cost changes and/or shipping delays to determine alternatives for the customer.
• Assist production coordinators with accurate deliveries and expediting options, ensuring the timely and efficient preparation of product in the Services group.
• Ensure quantity and timing of deliveries are managed to meet customer requirements.
• Enter purchasing orders for items that are needed to complete open jobs.
• Enter transfers and process transfer release for product to move between locations.
• Assist buyers with processing supplier acknowledgements, ensuring accuracy, initiating escalation process, and proper communication to Sales.
• Ensure acknowledgements are received from vendors and the information is entered correctly into the system.
