About The Position

The Junior Business Application Developer supports the development, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of Microsoft Power Platform and related business software solutions. This role will work closely with business users, developers, and project team members to understand requirements, build and enhance solutions, validate functionality, document results, and help ensure solutions meet user needs and quality standards. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail-oriented, organized, comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and eager to learn. This position is well suited for someone building experience across software development, quality assurance, business analysis, requirements documentation, and user acceptance testing within an enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in software development, quality assurance, business analysis, application support, or a related technical field
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to document requirements, test results, issues, user stories, and business processes clearly and accurately
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services and applications such as SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, and OneDrive
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or unexpected system behavior
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, follow established processes, learn new technologies, and work effectively as part of a team
  • An Interim DOD Secret Clearance is Required to Start.
  • An IAT II Certification such as a CompTIA Security+CE is Required within 90 Days of Start Date.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance, customer approval, and successful completion of a pre-employment background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing, developing, and supporting solutions using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and related Microsoft 365 technologies
  • Build and maintain basic workflows, forms, reports, dashboards, and integrations under the guidance of senior team members
  • Review business and system requirements to understand expected functionality, user needs, and acceptance criteria
  • Meet with stakeholders and users to gather, clarify, and document business requirements, user stories, workflows, and process needs
  • Assist with creating and maintaining test cases, test scripts, test data, and supporting QA documentation
  • Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing of software and business applications; document defects and verify completed fixes
  • Troubleshoot application issues, support minor enhancements, and work with developers and users to reproduce and resolve problems
  • Validate reports, forms, workflows, and data to ensure accuracy, expected behavior, and alignment with documented requirements
  • Participate in solution documentation, demonstrations, user support, deployments, team meetings, and continuous improvement activities while following established governance, security, and development standards
