About The Position

KINTERA is a newly merged consulting firm specializing in services and solutions for the resource sector. With a close-knit team, a diverse client base, and a strong reputation for quality and service, the company operates offices throughout British Columbia. We are looking for a full-time Junior Biologist & Technician to join our team of Resource Professionals working for the Capital Projects Department. Our mission is to provide the highest caliber of service to meet the needs of our clients, and we are only as good as the people on our team. We are looking for team players who are motivated, positive, and dependable. These positions will be based out of Terrace, B.C.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in biology, forestry, agriculture, or environmental science
  • One to three years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with fish and wildlife survey techniques, impact assessments, and mitigation planning
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and GIS/mapping tools
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations
  • Strong communication and report‑writing skills
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor and remote environments
  • Basic understanding of environmental legislation related to fish, wildlife, and birds

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in electrofishing, Swiftwater rescue, or similar training is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Conducting wildlife and aquatic habitat assessments, including species‑at‑risk surveys, habitat evaluations, and monitoring
  • Performing fish and wildlife salvages, water quality sampling, nest sweeps, and vegetation surveys
  • Monitoring construction and industrial sites for environmental compliance
  • Implementing environmental management plans, spill response, and revegetation work
  • Installing and maintaining erosion and sediment control devices and stream diversions
  • Developing and applying mitigation measures to reduce environmental impacts
  • Assisting with technical reports, proposals, and environmental assessments
  • Supporting senior biologists and project managers with wildlife and fisheries data integration
  • Building positive relationships with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders
