About The Position

As a Junior Autocad Drafter you will be responsible for assisting in creating shop drawings that will be used for installation. This role requires strong knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD software for creating 2D drawings. The position involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and other team members, as well as working closely with the permitting team. Ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations is crucial. The role also includes conducting quality checks, managing files, and communicating effectively with the team. Continuous learning and development in AutoCAD features and industry trends are expected. The job is in a hybrid environment and requires adaptability to new technologies and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD software for creating 2D.
• 1 year working CAD experience is required.
• Familiarity with drafting principles, standards, and practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work well in a team environment, take direction, and contribute to project goals.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, and industry standards as required.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and update drawings, submittals, and any other AHJ required documentation as required.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate necessary changes into drawings.
• Work closely with our permitting team to get projects completed and permitting in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the creation of drawings and designs.
• Conduct quality checks on drafted drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, including drawings, plans, and related documentation, in a well-structured and easily accessible manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements, provide progress updates, and seek guidance when needed.
• Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD features, Codes, techniques, and industry trends to enhance drafting skills and improve efficiency.
