Join IMT and let’s shape the future together! THE JUNIOR ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT SUPPORTS THE FINANCE TEAM WITH BASIC ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS DURING A TEMPORARY SUMMER PLACEMENT. THIS ROLE PROVIDES HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN FINANCIAL OPERATIONS, INCLUDING ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE SUPPORT, DATA ENTRY, AND RECORD MAINTENANCE. THE POSITION WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE ACCOUNTING TEAM TO ENSURE ACCURACY, ORGANIZATION, AND TIMELY PROCESSING OF FINANCIAL INFORMATION WHILE MAINTAINING CONFIDENTIALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Accounting, Finance, or related post-secondary program
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Understanding of financial documentation and record-keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow direction
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Team with basic accounting and administrative tasks.
  • Provide hands-on experience in financial operations.
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Maintain records.
  • Ensure accuracy, organization, and timely processing of financial information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
