About The Position

Viking Pest Control is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to gain hands-on experience and grow their skills. Recent college graduates and candidates with approximately one year of accounting experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Up to one year of accounting experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of the Accounts Payable cycle, from invoice processing through payment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and work toward established KPIs in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and verify accuracy against delivery slips and purchase orders
• Code invoices, obtain approvals, and enter invoices into the system
• Research and resolve vendor billing discrepancies
• Support the full Accounts Payable cycle, from invoice processing through payment
• Handle weekly check runs, including refunds and expense reimbursements
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Review new vendor documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with annual 1099 and monthly Sales & Use Tax reporting
• Follow established Accounts Payable policies and procedures
• Provide backup support for limited payroll functions as needed
• Maintain accounting spreadsheets for expense tracking and coding
• Assist with accounting ledgers and cost analysis
• Support monthly reporting and analysis
• Respond to internal and external requests
• Work with multiple departments to meet individual and departmental goals
• Assist with accounting projects and other duties as needed
