Junior Accountant (Remote)

Our client is a multinational travel and tourism agency on an exciting growth trajectory and they're looking for a Junior Accountant to join their expanding finance team. The role is fully remote, but you’ll need to be Gauteng-based. You'll work across a growing, international business where no two days are quite the same. Think multi-entity, potentially multi-currency accounting, plenty of learning opportunities and a team that values initiative over hand-holding.
Requirements
- BCom Degree essential
- 1 to 3 years' accounting experience
- Multi-entity / multi-currency experience advantageous
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Good MS Excel skills
- Experience with Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks or Xero
- Smart, curious and eager to learn
- Strong communication skills - this is important!
- Takes initiative
- Positive energy, problem-solving mindset and a genuine go-getter attitude
- Gauteng-based and comfortable working remotely
Nice To Haves
- Travel & Tourism, DMC, Hospitality or Property experience highly beneficial
Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping through to balance sheet
- Process and reconcile financial transactions
- Assist with month-end close and reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records across entities
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare reconciliations and investigate variances
- Support finance reporting and ad hoc analysis
- Assist with improving finance processes and efficiencies
