Requirements

  • Grade 12 education preferred
  • Must have full common core for Underground
  • Strong organizational skills with a priority for safety
  • Minimum 3 years as a Miner 2 in development
  • Must be able to lead crews and make decisions
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct work for a small crew
  • Able to follow directions with minimal supervision
  • Adaptable to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate jumbo and drill rounds as per assignment
  • Safely muck out blasted round
  • Safely install ground support as required
  • Properly mark-up round (shoot lines) in accordance with established standards
  • Prep face to drill in accordance with established standards
  • Safely drill holes as per regulations
  • Required to follow mining regulations regarding drilling on a face
  • Safely cap, load and blast round in accordance with established procedures.
  • Responsible to hook up blast in accordance with established standards/procedures
  • Able to accurately read prints
  • Required to organize and direct work of their crew
  • Safely operate scissor truck
