About The Position

SCR Mining and Tunnelling is seeking experienced and safety-focused Jumbo Operators/Development Leaders to join their underground mining operations team at Bissett, Manitoba. The primary role involves operating a jumbo drill for safe drilling and blasting. The company emphasizes a high-quality workforce and a commitment to safety and customer experience. This is a full-time role with a 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off Rotation, offering camp accommodation and meals.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience with Jumbo Drill machine in the mining field
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Positive attitude with the ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team
Legally authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities

Visually inspect, sound, scale and wash down work area, check for bootlegs and missholes, flags lifters, adds or repairs vent tubing.
Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.
Extend grade and centre line, mark face for drilling and circle bootlegs, maintain hanging wall and foot wall.
Capable of jackleg and/or stopper drilling as needed.
Determine location, spacing, depth and inclination of holes.
Perform minor repairs, such as changing striker bars, couplings, water tubes and hose clamps.
Complete daily logbooks on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
Load, prime, time, connect and test blasting circuit.
Place guards at all entrances to the blast, blast according to project standards and remove guards after blasting.
Maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Understand written and verbal instructions as required to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage.
