About The Position

This is a management position. The Juice Bar Manager must have the necessary confidence, commitment, and motivation to move their staff and themselves towards success. The Juice Bar Manager must be enthusiastic, have strong communication skills and extraordinary people skills. He/she must know how to keep moral high among the Juice Bar department staff; serve the customers to develop and retain repeat business; keep the Juice Bar department clean and up to par with Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards and lastly create an environment that’s welcoming, warm and friendly. Key traits and skills necessary to perform this job successfully are: strong leadership skills, good listening skills, applied empathy; must be self-motivated, decisive, observant, flexible, supportive, and possess a strong sense of urgency in all duties performed. Also, due to Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres goals and structure, the Juice Bar Manager should also be open to growth and expansion.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, or employees of Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres.
  • Ability to speak, read and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to listen to all complaints, suggestions, comments and implement those that work.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in such a manner to create a win-win situation.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through to a solution and implement the solution.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time; walk; frequent use of hands; hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Availability requirements include; but are not limited to; days, evenings, weekends, holidays & occasional overnight.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating activities of the Juice Bar department staff.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Staff development, performance reviews, schedule writing, rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Leading by example; modeling correct behavior and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Using the tools provided by management to ensure the success of the department.
  • Performing all essential duties of a Juice Bar Clerk.
  • Operating a cash register following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurate recording of customer transactions, including the acceptance of payment.
  • Accurate balancing of cash register.
  • Assigning duties and examining work for compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Educating customers on preparation and use of product.
  • Ordering, receiving, and merchandising products.
  • Receiving merchandise and verifying against purchase order.
  • Reporting/documenting damaged & shorted merchandise.
  • Preparing weekly and daily work schedules and directing the activities of employees.
  • Ensuring schedule writing is done fairly and objectively.
  • Managing cost control by managing labor, including overtime, and controlling supply costs.
  • Packaging, displaying, and merchandising all Juice Bar goods according to company standards.
  • Pricing merchandise and verifying price against purchase order.
  • Reporting/documenting price discrepancies and “not on file” items.
  • Processing purchase order for implementation at required deadline.
  • Implementing and maintaining all marketing programs.
  • Training & developing all Juice Bar Department employees in product knowledge, suggestive selling techniques, merchandising techniques, & customer service skills on an on-going basis.
  • Maintaining the appropriate profit margin in accordance to the approved pre-set budget, which entails sales goals, cost of goods, expenses, price changes and waste management.
  • Conducting inventory, preparing for inventory, and inventory results.
  • Maintaining inventory control especially for theft, shrink, & waste management.
  • Maintaining price integrity and proper weights and measures as mandated by California State Laws.
  • Cleaning & sanitizing juice bar equipment, counters, display cases and floors.
  • Maintaining quality and sanitation in accordance with the FDA and local health departmental codes and Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres stringent standards.
  • Knowing all cleaning chemicals authorized in the Juice Bar Department and understanding proper usage.
  • Training all Juice Bar employees on proper use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Following the “FIFO” rotation system (first-in, first-out) to maintain freshness of product and reduce shrink.
  • Following safety work standards and reporting any safety hazards.
  • Documenting all meetings/memos/postings and obtaining employees signatures as required.
  • Enforcing Company established Customer Service policies and guidelines.
  • Serving customers with a smile and willing attitude.
  • Assuring high sales through establishing relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Listening to customer complaints, examining returned merchandise, and resolving problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Meeting and exceeding Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards in service, appearance, quality, cleanliness, and leadership.
