About The Position

This position is contingent upon continued federal grant funding. The Judy Center Site Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring yearly performance measures and goals for the Judy Center in collaboration with stakeholders. This role involves progress monitoring using data, adjusting strategies as needed, and preparing grant applications. The coordinator will maintain a data collection system, compile data, and submit required reports. Key responsibilities include coordinating all Judy Center programs, monitoring non-instructional aspects such as budget development and fiscal oversight, and developing funding strategies. The role also focuses on increasing program visibility, expansion, and enrollment, establishing effective communication with service providers, and serving as a liaison between the school administration, Judy Center, and its partners. The coordinator will lead Steering Committee meetings, attend statewide Judy Center events, coordinate parent training sessions, and oversee the implementation of home visiting programs. Additionally, the role involves meeting with childcare providers, managing program materials and equipment, directing daily staff activities, and collaborating with the Early Childhood Program for professional development. The coordinator will also conduct outreach to recruit new families and represent the Judy Center at local advisory council and community meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, or related field.
  • Three years minimum experience working with children age birth through kindergarten and their families.
  • Ability to work with various agencies and related service providers.
  • Clear understanding and use of Results Base Accountability.
  • Knowledge of Maryland’s Career and College Readiness Standards.
  • Ability and experience collecting and analyzing data to prepare in-depth analyses of findings and reports.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to work well in group problem solving situations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Word Tables and Excel charts.
  • Excellent human relations, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and personal qualifications necessary to work successfully with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor yearly performance measure/ goals for the Judy Center along with key stakeholders (steering committee).
  • Using data, progress monitor grant performance measures/ goals and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and complete grant applications with Multi-Site Coordinator.
  • Implement and maintain data collection system by compiling existing data and submitting required reports to MSDE.
  • Coordinate all programs of the Judy Center.
  • Monitor all non-instructional aspects of the program, including budget development, fiscal oversight, and reporting.
  • Coordinate funding development plan, continuation proposals, and project evaluation activities with appropriate personnel.
  • Develop strategies for increasing program visibility and expansion, enrollment strategies including recruitment of new partners.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with service providers.
  • Articulate the goals and objectives of the Judy Center to parents, families, school community, and greater community at large.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the needs of Judy Center families.
  • Act as a liaison between the school administration and Judy Center as well as Judy Center’s partners.
  • Develop and lead bi-monthly Steering Committee meeting agendas, handouts, and distribute monthly meeting minutes.
  • Attend statewide Judy Center meetings/trainings and annual conference/ institute.
  • Coordinate parent-training sessions.
  • Coordinate the training and implementation of selected county’s research/evidence-based home visiting program.
  • Meet with childcare providers to ensure current availability and accreditation status.
  • Purchase and maintain Judy Center program materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Direct and monitor the day-to-day activities of Judy Center staff.
  • Holds regularly scheduled case management meetings with the Family Service Coordinator to discuss families’ current progress/status.
  • Service and coordination with partners as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Program to develop and implement systemic professional development related to school readiness for teachers and childcare providers.
  • Outreach and recruit new families in the school catchment area.
  • Represent the Judy Center at Local Early Childhood Advisory Council meetings and other local community meetings.
  • Share programmatic information about Judy Centers to potential partners, school administrators and staff, community members and potential families.
