About The Position

This is the management level, responsible for managing and supervising the work of judicial case management staff to ensure the timely and efficient progression of court cases. This level is distinguished from previous levels by overseeing case management operations through supervisory staff that directly report to this class and making decisions on complex and unusual challenges. Employees represent court operations in the testing of pilot programs as a subject matter expert and implementing new programs as a result of legislation.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience in managing cases as they move through the legal process.
  • Three years’ experience in researching files, records, and other sources of information, to ensure accurate case data and resolve issues in case flow or other issues.
  • Three years’ experience in narrative report writing.
  • Six months’ experience in staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Receives general direction and guidance from an administrative supervisor or higher in terms of broad goals and objectives; an employee plans and establishes the methods for achieving goals and objectives and manages case management operations.
  • Manages judicial case work by supervising and evaluating case management work and ensuring goals and objectives are met; supervises two or more full-time positions. The elements of supervision include performing the following on a regular and continuing basis: planning, assigning, reviewing, evaluating, coaching, training, disciplining, and recommending hire, termination, and promotion.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs designed to expedite work and case flow and to implement new laws and court mandates; implements and participates in pilot projects.
  • Works with a variety of internal and external groups to identify and resolve issues that impact court operations and case flow.
  • Represents the court on various committees, task forces and working groups.
  • Communicates effectively with court management, law enforcement officials, judicial officers, and other high level government officials to advise on issues, identify and resolve operational or legal problems and ensure the court's goals and objectives are met.
