Requirements

  • Two years of progressively responsible legal, court, or justice system support-related experience
  • Associate’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Related experience may substitute for the post-secondary education on a year-for-year basis

  • Justice court or justice system support-related experience
  • Previous experience working as a Judicial Clerk Senior in a court environment
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties of a supervisory nature, such as training and overseeing the work of other court staff, and hiring staff
  • Assists staff in problem resolution and facilitates training in court operations
  • Answers difficult questions concerning personnel and court policies
  • Investigates and responds to complex public complaints and requests information or service in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Updates database information and reads and interprets minute entries.
  • Prepares and processes formal orders and documents at the direction of the Judge
  • Develops employee evaluation plans and goals, and evaluates employee performance
  • Conducts legal and procedural research at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor
  • Disciplines staff when necessary at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor
  • Creates work plans in reaction to workload and case filings with direction from the Judicial Clerk Supervisor
  • Participates in committees and work groups, affecting the creation of policies and procedures
  • Helps to ensure data and financial integrity
  • Serves as liaison to outside agencies at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor
  • Prepare payroll along with other related personnel functions in the absence of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor
