About The Position

Serve as a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Exercise Communications Specialist and Planner at Fort Bragg, NC. Lead, coordinate and facilitate the wide variety and scope of communications support within the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) for strategic and operational level exercises. Qualified candidates must possess advanced management and organizational skills and demonstrate an understanding of Joint SOF Operational and Strategic Operations communications requirements. Must have significant analytical, planning, coordination, negotiation and directing skills to ensure requirements are satisfied.

Requirements

Advanced management and organizational skills.
Understanding of Joint SOF Operational and Strategic Operations communications requirements.
Significant analytical, planning, coordination, negotiation and directing skills.
Strong knowledge of networks.
Hands-on familiarity with hardware (computers, servers, printers).
Familiarity with Special Operations forces and their work environment.
CompTIA Security+ Certification.
CompTIA Network+ Certification.
Active Top Secret clearance.
Current eligibility to gain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration.
Continued education in Computer Science certifications (if college degree not obtained).

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
Set up network security features like firewalls.
Upgrade, install, and configure application software and computer hardware.
Create and manage system permissions and user accounts.
Act as a PKI Enhanced Trusted Agent.
Respond to queries on the phone, via email, and in person.
Offer technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software.
Work with physical devices—such as computers, servers and printers.
Support Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) activities for strategic and operational level exercises.
Work on a small team or often alone in garrison and TDY.
Travel to support events.
