About The Position

The Equity Trade Support Group (TSG) is responsible for a wide range of functions critical to the execution and support of cash equity trades. Active communication between Sales, Trading, Controllers, Settlements, Client Service, IT, Compliance, and various other Ops areas is essential to the daily process. TSG owns the key controls within trade support operations, and acts as coordinator for day-to-day activities.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years experience in the financial services or investment banking industry.
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent (any discipline).
  • High level of competency with Excel.
  • Strong work ethos.
  • Confidence.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to multitask and take the initiative.
  • Knowledge of trade execution, price and trade life cycle events.
  • Professionalism at all times, especially under high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Guardianship focused.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assimilate and learn quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in career development.
  • Prior experience in facilities or property management, portfolio management, business analysis, financial operations or other specialized experience in the industry.
  • MBA or other graduate level education.
  • Good understanding in Equity products.
  • Prior experience of a trade support role.
  • Knowledge sharing and assistance is a requirement to flatten out unequal workloads that may occur across the desk.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong working relationship with each group of traders that they will cover.
  • Act as coordinator for day-to-day activities within trade support operations.
  • Own key controls within trade support operations.
  • Communicate actively between Sales, Trading, Controllers, Settlements, Client Service, IT, Compliance, and various other Ops areas.
  • Clearly explain complex details to other interested parties and articulate the Ops perspective to the desk.
  • Organize and prioritize work successfully.
  • Identify where process improvements can be made.
  • Identify risk areas and question accordingly.
  • Deliver superior client service.
