About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Systems Administrator to support and maintain the Company's enterprise physical security and surveillance infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of Pro-Watch Access Control Systems, Genetec Security Center, ChangeGear SQL databases, and enterprise camera/video surveillance systems, while also providing support for Windows server infrastructure and related technologies.

  • Client Pro-Watch Access Control Administration
  • Genetec Security Center administration and support
  • IP camera systems, video encoders, NVRs, DVRs, and enterprise video storage solutions
  • Card access systems, badge management, door controllers, and physical security integrations
  • Security system troubleshooting and performance optimization
  • Windows Server and desktop operating systems
  • User administration, file systems, software installation, and services management
  • Active Directory administration, Group Policy, and domain services
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Server hardware management and RAID storage configurations
  • Patch management and firmware lifecycle administration
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration and maintenance
  • Database backup and restore procedures
  • SQL performance monitoring and optimization
  • Database troubleshooting and maintenance activities
  • Fundamental networking concepts including: DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall technologies, VLANs and IP networking
  • Security principles including: Access Control Lists (ACLs), Encryption, Authentication and authorization, System hardening
  • System health monitoring and performance analysis
  • Capacity planning and optimization
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell preferred)
  • Reporting and technical documentation development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of Information Technology experience supporting enterprise server environments and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience supporting physical security systems, access control platforms, video management systems, or related operational technology environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with experience providing end-user support.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound technical and business decisions.
  • Ability to lift and transport server, network, and security system equipment when required.
  • Ability to provide after-hours, on-call support for critical systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours to support scheduled maintenance and emergency response activities.
  • Ability to travel to Company locations as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment Background Check.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Client Pro-Watch access control servers and associated hardware.
  • Support and manage Genetec Security Center servers, video management systems, and camera integrations.
  • Maintain and optimize ChangeGear SQL databases, ensuring performance, availability, backup, and recovery capabilities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise IP camera systems, video recording platforms, storage systems, and surveillance infrastructure.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of access control, surveillance, server, and database-related incidents.
  • Coordinate hardware and software upgrades for physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability across security platforms and server environments.
  • Perform system patching, firmware upgrades, security updates, and vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for physical security systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, operating procedures, and support guides.
  • Provide on-call and emergency support for critical physical security and surveillance systems.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, facilities, and operations teams to ensure secure and reliable system operation.
