This entry-level position involves using knowledge of steel structures, pipe racks, pipe supports, platforms, stairways, concrete slabs, foundation details, rebar, and piling details to layout and design various civil and structural drawings for oil and gas process equipment and petrochemical plant facilities. The role includes designing and drafting civil/structural drawings such as module skid bases, pipe racks, pipe supports, platforms, rigid frame buildings, large structures, and other structural supports. The designer will complete aspects of civil/structural design and drafting in compliance with project scopes, client specifications, standards, and applicable codes and regulations, ensuring drawings are dimensionally clear, complete, and correct. Responsibilities also include managing design information, assembling checking packages, calculating civil/structural components, pre-ordering materials, organizing design packages, and gaining a full understanding of project scopes and schedules. The position requires obtaining and managing design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines, collaborating with various teams, assisting with design efforts from foreign drafting offices, producing 3D models, creating layout drawings and detailing of structural modules, producing civil/structural isometrics, and producing fabrication drawings. The designer will also assist design leads, attend meetings and model reviews, and answer questions from the Fabrication Shop.
