This role is responsible for reviewing artwork and structural box samples, and for designing and creating samples or layouts based on customer artwork and specifications. The Jr. Packaging Designer will fabricate creative and functional designs for corrugated shipping containers, including structural and graphics. They will provide accurate and legible documentation (CAD files and Print Cards) to Sales, Customer Service, and Production departments to ensure customer needs and production efficiencies are met. The position also involves maintaining a library of active and non-active tooling, creating prototypes and samples manually or using a CAM system, and producing small order quantities when required. Additionally, the role includes purchasing required tooling, meeting with vendors to discuss efficiencies and pricing, proofing new print plates and cutting dies, and coordinating tooling repairs. The Jr. Structural Designer must comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping, and follow corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards.
