This position will have the following consideration: Hybrid: In office, currently Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday each week, with the option to work from home on Thursday and Friday. The Jr. Specialist, Valuation is responsible for the oversight of the pricing by the Funds' Custodian and Fund Accountant, in addition to fair value pricing of securities for which market quotations are not readily available.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years previous investment experience
  • College degree required
  • Team player with strong decision-making skills, capable of driving key initiatives and outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, as well as external service providers and auditors
  • Strong planning, organization, analytical, research, and technical skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently, work independently, and deliver a variety of tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactive and coachable, with a strong eagerness to learn, contribute to the department's goals, and adapt flexibly across multiple projects as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and implement technology solutions to streamline work processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Flexibility to work extended hours if necessary

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the daily pricing of the American Beacon Mutual Funds and ETFs, performed by State Street Bank, the Funds' administrator and custodian
  • Assist research leading to a proposed pricing recommendation to the Funds' Fair Valuation Committee of securities for which a market quotation is not readily available
  • On-going research and updates to the Fair Valuation Committee for securities considered to be "recurring fair value"
  • Assist with research of pricing and accounting treatment for unique securities
  • Preparation of communication to the Fair Valuation Committee
  • Preparation of fair value pricing decisions and other reporting items for the quarterly Board of Trustees' meetings
  • Organization and maintenance of supporting documentation for fair value decisions and price challenges required by the Fund's external auditors and SEC SOX reviews
  • Assist Fund Reporting with valuation requests as part of the fund annual audits
  • Perform pricing vendor methodology oversight and back testing
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Funds' Pricing Procedures which includes the Funds' Price Source Authorization for State Street Bank and the Fair Valuation Procedures
  • Liaison with ABA's Fair Valuation Committee, as needed
  • Interaction with various departments within ABA
  • Interaction with various third parties including State Street Bank, the Funds' Sub-Advisors, and external auditors
  • Special projects as necessary
