About The Position

The Junior Project Engineer supports the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects by assisting with engineering coordination, vendor documentation, procurement tracking, and project execution activities. This role works closely with Project Managers, senior engineers, and procurement teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with technical specifications. The position provides hands-on exposure to engineering design, equipment procurement, fabrication, and commissioning of water treatment systems, offering a strong foundation for career growth within BW Water.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in engineering, water treatment, industrial systems, or project support roles.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings such as P&IDs and equipment layouts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and project documentation tools.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and technical specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in engineering or construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in coordinating project activities from engineering through fabrication and commissioning.
  • Track project deliverables, schedules, and procurement milestones.
  • Support preparation of project reports, progress updates, and documentation.
  • Maintain project documentation and assist with document control processes.
  • Assist with review and organization of engineering deliverables including:
  • P&IDs
  • General arrangement drawings
  • Equipment datasheets
  • Technical specifications
  • Support engineering teams in reviewing vendor drawings and technical submittals.
  • Assist in identifying technical discrepancies or clarification requests.
  • Support procurement activities by tracking equipment orders and delivery schedules.
  • Assist in coordinating technical documentation with vendors.
  • Maintain equipment and vendor documentation logs.
  • Assist with coordination between engineering teams, vendors, and fabrication facilities.
  • Track fabrication progress and vendor documentation submissions.
  • Support preparation for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and vendor inspections.
  • Assist with preparation of commissioning documentation and system checklists.
  • Support startup teams with documentation and equipment verification.
  • Participate in site visits when required to support installation or commissioning.
