Jr. Preschool Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Jr. Preschool Assistant Teacher supports young learners in a Christ-centered environment, working collaboratively with the lead classroom teacher. The role helps support children’s physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth through play- and exploration-based lessons and activities. The assistant supports classroom learning, daily routines, documentation, classroom management, and the upkeep of a safe and orderly facility. The position is part-time, 27.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 12:15 PM to 5:45 PM. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, based on education and experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Must meet licensing requirements for an assistant.
- Commitment to prayer, evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer.
- A meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry, conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom educational experiences as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist with daily activity documentation and incident or behavior reports as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Communicate and collaborate with the classroom teacher to support daily routines, classroom management, and the learning environment.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and complete duties that keep the facility orderly.
- Prepare learning materials as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Respond to behavioral issues with Christ-centered love, respect, and patience.
- Foster positive relationships with parents during drop-off and pick-up.
- Facilitate classroom routines and activities when the classroom teacher is absent.
- Attend required training and staff meetings throughout the year.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
- Maintain licensing compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
