About The Position

We are looking for someone passionate about creating the world's most thrilling customer driving experience. As Jr. Powertrain Calibrator, you'll craft and test custom vehicle calibrations, reverse-engineer control systems, and untap raw engine performance for enthusiasts driven around the world.

Requirements

  • In-depth engine calibration knowledge involving ignition timing, air-fuel ratios, boost levels, and related parameters.
  • Highly computer literate, including removing and reinstalling drivers and applications in a Windows OS environment.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with fuel lines, spark plugs, change tires, and related hardware.
  • Ability to read, understand, and reverse engineer software using Function Sheets.
  • Clear understanding of hexadecimal data and addressing.
  • Working knowledge of WinOLS binary editing software.
  • Strong skills in reporting and recording technical issues.
  • Good attitude at all times and flexible and adaptable to change.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. in mechanical, software, or other engineering discipline preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, operational flow, and the 7 wastes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and test calibrations.
  • Immerse yourself, comprehend, and problem-solve using OEM documentation such as Function Sheets for control module types you are engaged with.
  • Meticulously utilize hexadecimal matching techniques to move completed binaries over to new OEM binaries.
  • Troubleshoot escalated customer issues by analyzing data logs and spotting issues and trends.
  • Develop calibration documentation to aid in customer support.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of engines, transmissions, turbochargers, superchargers, common modifications, and tuning upgrades.
  • Liaise with customers to track down vehicles for development or advertising as required.
  • Demonstrate complete mastery of the PowerLink tuning server.
  • Utilize a variety of tools to rescue control units that failed programming.
  • Understand the basic effects of various modifications on vehicle emissions and the regulatory ramifications of those changes.
  • Execute emissions testing regimes to satisfy EPA Compliance Memo requirements.
  • Travel to validate performance and support marketing efforts through racing, or as required.
