About The Position

WOONGJIN, Inc. is seeking a proactive Jr. Network Technician to provide first-level support for network incidents during the night shift. This role involves monitoring network health, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians to prevent incidents and restore services. The technician will also be responsible for basic network equipment configuration and replacement under guidance, participating in network change windows, and providing occasional extended hours support. Adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), report creation, and effective communication are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of Network Help Desk or Network Technician experience.
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Comp TIA A+ certification.
  • Some experience with VLANs, Subnetting, IP addresses, Ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, SSH, telnet, traceroute, optical transceivers, hubs, switches.
  • Must live within 1 hour from north Austin, TX.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
  • Ability to work well within a team and mentoring other network technicians.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Able to occasionally lift equipment up to 40lb.
  • Able to occasionally wear a complete cleanroom smock inside an electronic semiconductor facility.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA certification or 3 years of experience in a network technician role.
  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Experience with switch configuration, IP subnetting, network troubleshooting.
  • Bilingual Korean.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive network monitoring and first-level support for network incidents during the night shift.
  • Work with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians on network incident prevention and service restoration.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate to the network team within SLA, maintaining communication until resolution.
  • Configure network equipment and replace faulty equipment under the guidance of the Network Team.
  • Participate as a buddy check for network engineers during night change windows.
  • Provide occasional extended hours support during high project seasons and site maintenance days.
  • Respond to incidents within SLA.
  • Follow SOPs, create reports as requested, update management systems, and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Create daily pass-down reports.
