About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role requires a solid understanding of basic mathematics and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Requirements
- General knowledge of basic mathematics for measurements and calculations.
- Working knowledge of hand tools commonly used in a machine shop environment.
- General knowledge of machinery and machine tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
- A strong willingness to learn and develop skills in CNC machining and other machining processes.
- Detail-oriented approach to tasks and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- General understanding of manufacturing operations.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with CNC milling or CNC lathe operations.
- Exposure to blueprinting and understanding of machining tolerances.
- Basic understanding of tooling and its application in machining.
- Previous experience with drilling or grinding machine operations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various machine tools, including lathes and mills, to produce precision parts.
- Perform basic machine setup and adjustments for different machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions.
- Execute drilling and cutting operations with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the selection and application of appropriate cutting tools and tooling for machining tasks.
- Follow established operational procedures and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting of minor machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and any encountered challenges.
