About The Position

Teknor Apex, a global custom compounder with a nearly hundred-year history, is seeking a Jr. Laboratory Technician to join their team. The company, which started as a small Rhode Island tire store, has grown to include nine U.S. locations and international operations. Teknor Apex remains a privately held company, emphasizing deep employee and customer relationships to deliver customized compound solutions. The Jr. Laboratory Technician will support the Technology Department through various stages of product development and testing.

Requirements

• Teamwork and Communication skills with Supervisors and with colleagues
• High School or G.E.D.
• Capable of performing basic arithmetic
• Able to read and write in English
• Data entry skills
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
• Must be 18 years of age to work at Teknor Apex.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic assigned tasks in prioritized, logical, and timely manner in agreement with company laboratory and safety procedures.
• Tests in accordance with specifications provided with assistance.
• Once trained is able to perform all core function/testing required by this position.
• Enters test data and conditions into the lab system.
• Supports the Technology Department through all stages of product development and testing to include; Test Sample Preparation, Mechanical & Physical Property Testing, Thermal Property Testing, Environmental Property Testing, Support Systems Maintenance, Quality Systems Maintenance, or in a specialized focus field of product development.
