Jr. Front End Web Developer - AFIT
About The Position
Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Jr. Front End Web Developer to support the Air Force Institute of Technology’s (AFIT) Cyberspace Technical Center of Excellence (CyTCoE). The position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and seeks someone with artificial intelligence basics and DevSecOps experience. The role involves developing and maintaining front-end and back-end code, integrating AI/ML capabilities and web applications with enterprise systems, and working with host teams to deploy applications and AI/ML capabilities to cloud and Kubernetes environments. The developer will also define data models and storage solutions and execute and interpret DevSecOps pipeline results. Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain one.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or cloud solutions.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or implementing AI/ML solutions in production.
- At least 3 years of experience in web development, preferably front-end.
- Strong JavaScript and Java background; familiarity with Python.
- Familiarity with web application architecture and JavaScript frameworks, particularly Vue and Quasar.
- Familiarity with document, graph, and relational databases, including MongoDB, Neo4j, and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with AI/ML principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of APIs, data integration, and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and pipelines, including Git repositories, static and dynamic code analysis, building container images, and deployment to Kubernetes.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance, especially in regulated environments such as the Department of Defense.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including criminal history and identity checks.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in MLOps environments and deploying ML models at scale; described as a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain front-end and back-end code.
