Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary co-op or internship program
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounting and financial principles
  • Highly proficient in Excel, including ability to use advanced functions
  • Ability to work comfortably and analyze large data sets
  • Sharp attention to details and accuracy, and a dedicated work-ethic
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking skills and able to creativity identify and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development

Responsibilities

  • Support month end closing process including the preparation of monthly journal entries under tight month-end deadlines
  • Support the team in reconciling financial data and identifying discrepancies
  • Support the team in data entry and maintenance of financial databases
  • Assist in AR / AP cleaning accounts monthly reconciliation
  • Record treasury transactions and perform relevant data matching
  • Compile, analyze and report on key business operating metrics/drivers, including ability to link operating and financial trends and variances
  • Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management to support their business decision making
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational results, as well as supporting any special projects
