Jr. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Engineer
About The Position
Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (ATRCorp) is seeking a full-time permanent Jr. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Engineer to join their Engineering Services Division. This role will be based at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division in Indian Head, MD. The engineer will work on world-class military programs supporting the US Navy's Warfare technology within the Energetics Technology Division and the Ordnance Electronics Engineering Branch. The position involves on-site work with the ESD and Ordnance Electrical Safety Engineering team, with some remote work from home available weekly. The primary focus will be on participating in ESD testing, evaluation, and analysis of US Navy and USMC Ordnance weapon systems, including hands-on testing at ESD facilities for various system designs. The role also includes developing test plans, scheduling tests, submitting reports, and resolving technical ESD issues.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Analytical skills with respect to mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Ability and interest to work with and gain experience with testing ordnance and explosives.
- Experience with some level of design.
- Experience with working in teams and multi-tasking.
- Experience with analysis report writing and weekly report writing.
- Strong MS Office skills (MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro).
- Excellent verbal/written communications skills and attention to detail.
- US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or familiarity with ordnance and/or energetics is preferred.
- Job experience with Navy or DoD is a plus.
- Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
Responsibilities
