The Junior Buyer is responsible for generating purchase orders, maintenance of past due purchase orders, working with our warehouse team on receipt issues and processing defective material returned from our customers, working with the supplier to determine warranty status. This position will drive for supplier on time delivery improvement and inventory reductions through visual and daily management practices and activities for sustained improvements. This position reports to the Procurement Manager and is part of the Supply Chain Team located in Carlsbad, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Review and convert daily material requirements into Purchase Orders, managing supplier communications, delivery confirmations and PO discrepancies. Expedite daily shortages to meet customer requirements and identify supply risk to leadership team Resolve inbound receiving issues by working with suppliers and our warehouse team. Investigate and disposition all defective material in sub-inventory Returns, As-Is and MRB (Material Review Board), working with suppliers and resolving all discrepancies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors’ degree or 1+ years of experience in a procurement role (Distribution environment a plus)
  • Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP software.
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal.
  • Detailed oriented and focused on delivering value to the customer.
