Overall Mandate: Responsible for assisting the Production Facility Assistant Plant Manager – Bakery and Bakery Assistant with the production activities in the Commissary.

Requirements

  • Ability to identify problems and execute resolutions quickly and efficiently
  • Solid management and excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to follow set recipes
  • Work independently with ability to follow direction
  • Physical manual labour required
  • Must have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced, process driven, high volume production environment
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts; mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Must possess or acquire Ontario Food Handler Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Red Seal Certification or accredited culinary arts degree preferred
  • 2-3 years’ experience with Baking or Food Preparation would be an asset
  • Previous experience and knowledge with various baking equipment and Artisan baking an asset

Responsibilities

  • To take an active role in assisting Production Facility Assistant Plant Manager – Bakery (including overseeing in the manager’s absence) in directing, supervising, and coordinating of all production activities (i.e. scaling, mixing, & shaping of product)
  • To be effective in determining priorities and delegating work to department staff
  • Maintain standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance and operations while maintaining a well-organized production area
  • To ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and health and safety of the department meets with Company standards
  • Other duties as required
