About The Position

Join the AI Center of Excellence as a Junior AI Engineer to help build and support AI agents and automation workflows used across the bank. You'll work under senior engineers on real production systems while learning the modern GenAI stack. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is curious and wants to grow professionally in AI. This role will report on-site at our HQ in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Data Science or related field.
• 1+ years experience programming with Python, familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and basic SQL, as well as experience with Git.
• Exposure to LLMs or GenAI through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of hands-on experience building AI/ML or data-powered applications.
• Exposure to Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or similar cloud AI services.
• Familiarity with LLM patterns (agents, tool use, RAG), as well as n8n or similar low-code automation tools.
• Domain exposure to financial services or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Work on the AI CoE stack: Python/FastAPI, LangGraph agents, Azure OpenAI, Claude API, and n8n.
• Support production AI agents and automations - triage issues, review logs and traces, fix small bugs.
• Make enhancements to existing systems: prompt updates, new agent tools, n8n workflow changes, minor API integrations.
• Build prototypes to validate new ideas; document findings.
• Stay current on AI/GenAI developments and share learnings with the team.
