About The Position

NACG is seeking Journeyperson Welders to join their remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region, with a combined rate of up to $74.47/hour and room for growth. The role involves completing repairs on mining equipment such as Haul Trucks, Excavators, Shovels, and Dozers (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu), developing work scopes, fabricating from blueprints, completing reports and work orders, and adhering to NACG codes of practice and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Red Seal/Alberta Journeyperson Welder with 1-2 years of heavy equipment repair experience (preferably large Trucks/Dozers/Shovels/Excavators)
• Experience with mobile equipment repairs, ice lugging, lancing, and gouging.
• Trained and experienced with Stick, MIG and large wire-feed welders, radiograph, Cooper-heat, Plasma cutter, Lance, overhead crane, etc…
• Ability to work outside if necessary
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
• Intermediate computer skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to learn
• Show leadership skills
• Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
• Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
• Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
• Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
• OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
• H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
• Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs on mining equipment, including Haul Trucks, Excavators, Shovels, and Dozers (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu)
• Develop a work scope
• Fabricate from blueprints
• Complete reports and fill out work orders when required
• Follow NACG codes of practice and safety procedures

• Up to a combined rate of pay of $74.47/hour
