About The Position

Under general supervision, the Journeyperson Millwright will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment. This includes diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures, working with motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and fabricating parts. The role requires the ability to analyze problems, organize work, and develop effective repair methods, as well as reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.

Requirements

Ability to cut with a torch
Welding experience
Fabricating experience
Trouble shooting pneumatic and hydraulics
Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion
Ability to work with different tools such as grinders, drills/hand and presses
Can identify bearings
Know and understand metric for measuring
Being able to read a tape measure
Ability to work independently
Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership

Responsibilities

Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
Use diagnostic and repair tools and equipment in disassembling, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment
Identify common reasons for mechanical failure and take steps to correct malfunctioning
Work with various types of motors and understand their operation
Work with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
Analyze mechanical problems
Organize assigned maintenance and repair work
Develop effective work methods
Rebuild and install new and/or rebuilt assemblies in equipment
Weld broken parts, burn and fabricate
Read and interpret maintenance manuals
Use diagram schematics and parts manuals
