About The Position

Finning is growing and hiring multiple field-experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for their BC Mobile Team. In this role, you will support customer needs throughout BC and the Yukon. This position is for individuals who are customer-focused, possess a Red Seal endorsement, and are looking for stability and career growth.

Requirements

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road)
• 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
• Willingness to participate and complete additional training
• Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, Fitness testing and a Clear Background check)
• Ability to wear a respirator where applicable

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Equipment in both shop and field environments.
• Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, in a field environment (possibility of remote locations).
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes).
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
